Bonuses of up to $5,000, hourly wages in $30s among perks offered by Sheboygan County senior living community amid worker shortage

SHEBOYGAN FALLS - A Sheboygan County senior living community is offering bonuses of $300-$5,000 and hourly wages of $15-$32 or more to attract and retain workers.

Pine Haven Christian Communities in Sheboygan Falls and Oostburg said it is rolling out the enhanced employee benefits as incentives for current and future employees amid an ongoing worker shortage.

As of October, around 3,000 jobs were unfilled across Sheboygan County, forcing some businesses to change their hours or close entirely.

“The goal of this enhanced employee benefits program is to find the right staff for the right positions so we can continue to fulfill our mission,” said Ron Walvoort, chief executive officer, in a news release. “We want to respect those who provide that service by compensating them with wages, benefits and a positive work environment that reflects the effort, love and dedication they give to our residents.”
