Boo! Where to find the big Halloween events in Daytona Beach area

It’s that spooky time of year, so if you’re looking for a fun event to show off your ingenious holiday costume — we're looking at you, potential Barbie and Kens — there are plenty of parties, festivals and events sure to be full of the Halloween spirit.

Since the actual trick-or-treating holiday falls on a Tuesday this year, most of the bigger events will be unfolding this weekend. Here’s a look at what’s happening in Volusia and Flagler counties:

Daytona Beach

Daytona Beach Halloween Bar Crawl: 4-10 p.m. Saturday, Froggy’s Saloon, 800 Main Street, Daytona Beach. This ticketed event, dubbed “Nightmare on Main Street,” features admission to popular watering holes along the beachside thoroughfare, a commemorative pin and the opportunity to participate in a costume party at the Froggy’s after-party. Participants also are encouraged to bring a canned-food item to donate to Halifax Urban Ministries of Volusia County in exchange for raffle tickets at the event. Tickets: $19.99 at Eventbrite.com.

HOG-O-Ween Party & Costume Contest: 7-11:30 p.m., Hard Rock Hotel, 918 N. Atlantic Ave., Daytona Beach. This event hosted by on-air hosts at 95.7 FM WHOG offers more than $1,500 in prizes for best costumes, live music from Jette County Dragsters, specialty cocktails and more. Tickets range from $15-$35 at Eventbrite.com.

Halloween Monster Mash: 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Tomoka Town Center, 1401 Cornerstone Blvd., Daytona Beach. Family-friendly event features meet-and-greets with spooky characters, a DJ spinning popular hits, costume contests, trick-or-treat stations and karaoke. Visit shoptomokatowncenter.com for details.

Trunk or Treat: 4-7 p.m. Saturday; One Daytona, 1 Daytona Blvd., Daytona Beach. Presented by Jeep Beach, event features safe, fun trick-or-treating as well as a show of customized Jeeps. Free admission. Visit onedaytona.com for details.

Trunk or Treat, event presented by Daytona Beach City Commissioner Stacy Cantu: 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, City Island Park, 113 Jackie Robinson Parkway, Daytona Beach. Kid-friendly event features trick or treat around decorated vehicles, free games, face-painting and costume contest. Free parking available adjacent to the park and behind Beach Street shops. Deltona

Halloween Spooktacular: 5-10 p.m. Saturday, Dewey O. Boster Sports Complex, 1200 Saxon Blvd., Deltona. This free community event features hayrides, glow foam, costume competition, haunted trails and more. Visit deltonafl.gov for details.

Edgewater

Trunk or Treat: 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Edgewater Alliance Church, 310 N. Ridgewood Ave., Edgewater. Annual event features free candy, food and games. Visit edgewateralliance.org for details.

New Smyrna Beach

New Smyrna Beach Fall Festival: 4-9 p.m. Saturday, New Smyrna Beach Sports Complex, 1800 Turnbull Bay Road, New Smyrna Beach. This free annual event offers an evening of family fun with a corn maze, inflatables, a huge slide, vendors, food trucks and more. Tickets will be available for purchase for games and rides at the event.

Orange City

Halloween Block Party: 5-8:30 p.m. Saturday, Mill Lake Park, 207 E. Blue Springs Ave., Orange City. This free event features trick-or-treating, live DJ entertainment, a movie-in-the-park featuring “The Addams Family” (2019), kids’ activity zones and costume contests for pets and people. Ormond Beach

Ponce Inlet

Port Orange

Port Orange Halloween Extravaganza: 832 Pine Forest Trail W., Port Orange. This family-friendly haunted house will unfold for five days over the weekend into Tuesday’s Halloween night. It’s a walk-through event that touts “an unforgettable journey through the shadows, where frights and delights await around every corner.” Hours: 6:30-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 6:30-9 p.m. Sunday-Tuesday. Flagler County

Halloween Hoopla!: 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Flagler County Public Library Main Branch, 2500 Palm Coast Parkway, Palm Coast. Guests invited to wear a costume and enjoy decorated pumpkins and indoor trick or treating while supplies last. Free for children of all ages, accompanied by adult. Halloween Party at Palm Coast VFW Post 8696: 9 p.m. Saturday, VFW Post 8696, 47 Old Kings Road N., Palm Coast. Ticketed event features dinner, dancing, live music, costume and trivia contests. Tickets: $30 at Eventbrite.com.
