In pregame coverage leading up to Saturday's ACC football championship game pitting UNC (9-3) against Clemson (10-2), ABC studio analysts Dan Mullen and Booger McFarland both picked the Tar Heels to win.

"Gene Chizik's defense will show up just enough," said Booger McFarland, who joined Dan Mullen in his underdog prediction.

The Tigers are a 7.5 favorite to win their 21st league title. UNC is trying to win its sixth. The Heels' last ACC championship came in 1980, while Clemson has won six of the last seven.

The ACC championship will be played at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte at 8 p.m., and broadcast on ABC.
