The afternoon of Friday, January 21, was a very special day for the students of Booker T. Washington Elementary School in Wichita Falls.

Each student was gifted a backpack full of new school supplies, basic everyday necessities and toys.

"Every single student is getting a backpack," said Crystal Walker, owner of Idea Fountain Inc., which brought the giveaway event together.

"There's some fun things in there and some not so fun things in there: washcloths, pajamas, clean underwear, socks, basic necessities that we take for granted - that are in these backpacks," Walker said.

The police officers, firefighters, and DAV members helped the kids ride their newly gifted bicycles.
