#FourthFireworks

Lots of fireworks, which will fill the skies around the region for three consecutive nights over the holiday weekend. Most displays cap larger community events. Here are all the details.

#PeoUpdate

On Wednesday, facing mounting criticism about lewd, crude comments made by a podcasting co-host about Rochester City Councilwoman Mary Lupien, City Councilman Jose Peo apologized. On Thursday, Council President Miguel Melendez removed Peo as chair of the Council’s Parks and Public Works Committee. Afterward, Peo issued a statement defending his work on the committee. He also claimed that he and his family have been attacked by his fellow Council members and their followers on social media, and he has never asked those members to “censor” their followers.

#JoyOnWheels

Rochester has its first video-game truck. 1st Player Game Truck, a fully equipped video game service housed in a 24-foot custom trailer, delivers the joy in the form of joysticks right to your door, festival or business park. James Bunn is the man behind the business and is known affectionately by his younger regulars as “Video Game Truck Guy.” He came up with the concept while playing NBA 2k19 with his 10-year-old son months before the pandemic began.

See you Tuesday. Happy Fourth.
