Boom! Boom! Boom! Weekend of three Miami transfers (two WRs) make it good one for Canes
The Miami Hurricanes got a triple dose of happiness over the weekend, as three football players announced they are transferring to the University of Miami.
The Canes bounty includes two much-needed receivers and another potentially valuable piece of the defensive line.
On Saturday night, 6-7, 277-pound lineman Anthony Campbell of Louisiana-Monroe announced he was committing to UM.

Two-and-a-half-hours later, Reedley (California) junior college receiver Shemar Kirk announced he was coming to UM.

On Friday night, Miami native and Columbus High grad Tyler Harrell, another receiver, announced he was heading to the U from powerhouse Alabama after four years at Louisville.
The Hurricanes need all three to bolster their 2023 roster.
Anthony Campbell
Campbell grew up in Kingston, Jamaica, moved to Bartow at age 14 and has two years of eligibility remaining. This past season he had 13 tackles, 3 1/2 tackles for loss, a sack, pass breakup, two quarterback hurries and a forced fumble for Louisiana-Monroe.
He has played defensive end and inside at tackle, where UM could use him.

Campbell started his junior college career playing two seasons at Independence (Kansas) Community College.
The Canes previously signed former Georgia State defensive linemen Thomas Gore and former Purdue lineman Branson Deen heading into spring practice.
Shemar Kirk
Kirk, who graduated from McGavock High School in Nashville, is listed as 6-1 and 180 pounds on his Reedley bio. He’s been a standout during both Reedley seasons.
Kirk played in 10 games last season and had 31 catches for 664 yards and seven touchdowns.
In 2021, Kirk played in eight games and had 45 catches for 782 yards and eight touchdowns. That’s 97.8 receiving yards a game.
Kirk also returns kickoffs.
Tyler Harrell
Kirk and Harrell will compete with UM’s Jacolby George and Colbie Young as outside receivers. Heading into fall camp, both George and Young were solidified among the starters.
Harrell, a four-star prospect out of Columbus with one remaining year of eligibility, caught 18 passes for 523 yards in 2021 at Louisville, with a team-best six touchdowns. He missed the first half of 2022 with an injury, according to the Crimson Tide, and finished last season with only two catches for 18 yards.
The Canes have now added 14 players from the transfer portal, eight of them heading into spring practice and six since.
