Boom Town, OKC Latina collaborating for Hispanic Heritage Month with 2 new ice cream flavors
Local ice cream shop Boom Town Creamery is launching two limited-time flavors in collaboration with OKC Latina, a local community group focused on supporting and connecting members of the city's LatinX community.
"To celebrate a culture that is vibrant and vast we bring you two distinctly different flavors to celebrate hispanic/latinx heritage month," the company wrote in a post to Facebook and Instagram.
The flavors include Churro, a cinnamon ice cream swirled with house made dulce de leche and chunks of churros from local churro truck Churros Meoqui, and Mangonada, a mango sherbet swirled with tamarind jam and sprinkles of Tajin.
You can find the flavors at all three Boom Town Creamery locations now and they will stick around for the next three to four weeks, depending on how quickly they sell, according to owner Angela Muir.
Boom Town, which recently celebrated its one year anniversary and an expansion to two additional locations, did previous collaborations for Juneteenth and Pride Month and has two additional collaborations planned before the year's end.
