The number of people crossing the borders into the United States is at an all-time high. According to FBI Director Christopher Wray, the staggering number of people crossing the U.S.-Mexican border poses a “significant security issue” that can be exploited by terrorists. Art, a border agent and Vice President of the Border Patrol Council, says “chaos” has been happening at the border for a long time, and he believes he knows why. “It is driven by criminals. It’s driven by the cartels. The cartels know what areas they can saturate with large groups. They know that’s going to have agents respond to that area, remove them from there,” Art says. “That’s when they’re taking advantage to bring individuals with serious criminal records into the United States or those that have committed crimes in the past.” Hear more from Art in the video above. Should the U.S. make it harder for people to cross the borders?
