How Boreal Mountain Resort was able to open despite warm temperatures, little snow

Despite a year with mostly warm temperatures and very little snow, people were able to hit the slopes at Boreal ski resort on Friday. "It's been great. We've been waiting on it, and it's been great to rip it," said Ethan Johnson, who drove two and a half hours from Escalon to shred the slopes. " It was pretty much a miracle this was able to happen, honestly," added snowboarder Noah Rast. "It is a big bummer that it's been hotter this late into the year." What makes this week's snow at Boreal different is that it's entirely manufactured. Due to the warmer weather and sparse rainfall, Mother Nature has not offered much in terms of snow. Crews at Boreal decided to take things into their own hands. See more in the video above.
