Bored 'Distance Learning' Student Creates Rube Goldberg Machine Using Calculator and Textbooks

Montana resident Jack R Price created a Rube Goldberg machine using a calculator, textbooks, and other objects as a way to pass the time while taking a break from online schooling at his home in Columbia Falls on April 18.

Price engineered the sprawling device to get a plastic ball into a small plastic cup. The video shows Price throwing a plastic ball at a basket posted by his bedroom door. The ball travels down a paper tunnel and continues to travel through the obstacle course until it reaches its target – a small plastic cup at the bottom of a staircase.

Price told Storyful he created the ball run after getting bored with online schooling, “I put some better use to my calculator and textbooks,” he said. Credit: Jack R Price via Storyful
