President Trump, who earlier Wednesday said he wouldn’t watch the first round of the first Democratic presidential debate, because he was “off to save the free world,” initially tweeted just one word about the event in Miami: “BORING!”

Trump tweeted from Air Force One, which had stopped off Anchorage, Alaska, en route to Japan, where the president will be attending the G-20 Summit. He tweeted again to deride the network broadcasting the debate when a hot mic issue forced NBC’s moderators to take a commercial break at the start of the second round.

“@NBCNews and @MSNBC should be ashamed of themselves for having such a horrible technical breakdown in the middle of the debate,” he tweeted. “Truly unprofessional and only worthy of a FAKE NEWS Organization, which they are!”

The president was mentioned by name only a handful of times during the first round of the debate, most prominently when candidates were asked about recent tensions with Iran, immigration and the economy. The “Trump Team,” the official account for the Trump 2020 campaign, posted throughout the debate, and re-tweeted pro-Trump comments on the current U.S. economygovernment health insurance, and immigration, as well as the organizations’ professional staff.

The president’s son Donald Trump Jr. also mocked the network’s technical mishap when switching moderators between debate rounds.

“Watching the bewilderment and fear in the Dem candidates faces with some minor technical difficulties shows you all you need to know about how they would likely handle real issues would face as leader of the free world,” tweeted Trump Jr. “Imagine them in the situation room? Scary!!!”

“I have a feeling that any world leader watching these people speaking right now is praying for a Democrat win in 2020,” Trump Jr. later tweeted. “They know they would walk all over these clowns and therefore America.”

The president's son also tweeted a game for debate watchers, saying: “Have fun. We are burning through this one fast. Democrat debate night BINGO!!! Thank me later.”
