Borough Park Tops Brooklyn Coronavirus Cases, New Data Shows
BOROUGH PARK, BROOKLYN — Borough Park has the third-most confirmed coronavirus cases of any city neighborhood, according to newly-released data.
The data published Wednesday by the city's Health Department gives a zipcode-specific look at the COVID-19 outbreak. And it's not good news for south Brooklyn.
The 11219 zip code covering Borough Park had 771 positive coronavirus cases as of Tuesday. It's the most of any Brooklyn zip code and falls only behind Corona and Elmhurst in Queens.
There are also signs the outbreak could be even worse in Borough Park and its surrounding area.
Two zip codes partially covering the neighborhood, 11230 and 11204, respectively logged 631 and 534 cases, according to the data. Those zip codes mostly serve Bensonhurst and Midwood.
