Noise-canceling headphones aren’t necessities, per se, but they do make holiday travel more bearable. You’ll appreciate having a pair (or find yourself wishing you did) when you board your flight to find you’re seated near three crying toddlers and a very talkative group, as you clutch a book that you’re hoping to read in peace. The first noise-canceling headphones were born out of frustration on a similarly noisy flight and, luckily, the Bose QuietComfort 45 headphones are currently on sale on Amazon.

Aware lets in some of the sounds around you, helpful if you’re waiting for your group number to be called, while quiet blocks them out. And though the QuietComfort headphones are usually more affordable than the Bose 700 (which earned the title of Best Overall Noise-Canceling Headphones), the QuietComfort are currently discounted, making them even more so, less than $250.
