Bossier City Police officer in stable condition following shooting Tuesday morning

A Bossier City police officer is in stable condition after being shot Tuesday morning.

Louisiana State Police (LSP), Public Information Officer LeAnn Hodges said early Tuesday morning Bossier City Police Department was called to the Valero Gas Station on Industrial Drive and I-20 on reports of a shooting.

Arriving officers were met by a subject and an exchange of gunfire occurred. During the exchange, an officer was struck and was transported to a local hospital and listed in stable condition.

LSP is only conducting the investigation on the officer-involved shooting. Bossier City Police will conduct an investigation on the initial call.

At this time there is no information on how many victims or injuries occurred from this incident. Bossier City Police said they will release information as it becomes available.

LSP confirmed a subject is in custody.
