Boston again lands on list of ‘rattiest’ cities in United States

Boston may soon need to change its nickname from “Beantown” to “Rat Town.”

Orkin this week released its 2022 “Rattiest Cities” list and Boston once again came in rather high on the ranking.

For the eighth consecutive year, Chicago was crowned the rattiest city in the country, followed by New York City, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and San Francisco to round out the top five.

Boston was named the 13th rattiest city, maintaining the same position it held in 2021.

Orkin says it compiled its list by analyzing the number of new rodent treatments performed in each city from Sept. 1, 2021, to Aug. 31, 2022.
