Boston Celtics Games Postponed As Coronavirus Runs Through NBA

BOSTON — The Boston Celtics game against the Bulls in Chicago scheduled for Tuesday night was postponed Monday, marking the second straight day the NBA announced a postponement for Boston as a rash of coronavirus cases spreads across the league.

Boston's home game against the Miami Heat Sunday was postponed when the Heat couldn't get enough players to field a team. The Celtics were down to the minimum of eight available players for that game.

The Celtics wouldn't have even had eight players for Tuesday's game. Star Jayson Tatum and center Robert Williams tested positive for the coronavirus, with several other players sitting due to contact tracing. Other players are out with injuries.

The NBA said it will meet with the players union Tuesday to discuss health and safety protocols.

The Celtics' next game is scheduled for Wednesday against the Orlando Magic in Boston.
