Boston’s Charles River Esplanade voted top 10 best riverwalks in America
Whether you’re on a morning jog, afternoon stroll, or even a sunset picnic, Boston’s downtown river is one of the city’s best features that offer so many things to do and see.
The Charles River Esplanade has been recognized by USA Today readers as one of the best waterfront spots in all of America.
The Esplanade came in 8th on the ranking of the “10 best riverwalks across the United States.”
“The Charles River Esplanade in downtown Boston features a 64-acre park and 17 miles of running trails along the waterfront. The riverfront is also home to a community boat launch, a small seasonal cafe, and an outdoor amphitheater for summer concerts,” the Esplanade Association said in a statement.
A panel of experts nominated 20 riverwalks for the list, which was voted on by readers.
The top 10 riverwalks in the U.S. are:
Detroit International RiverWalk - Detroit, Michigan
Tampa Riverwalk - Tampa Bay, Florida
Waterfront Park - Louisville, Kentucky
Smale Riverfront Park - Cincinnati, Ohio
Mississippi Riverwalk - Dubuque, Iowa
San Antonio River Walk - San Antonio, Texas
Wilmington Riverwalk - Wilmington, North Carolina
Charles River Esplanade - Boston, Massachusetts
Milwaukee RiverWalk - Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Canal Walk - Indianapolis, Indiana
