Boston To Delay Aspects Of State's Reopening Plan By Three Weeks

Boston will follow the state's guidance on loosening the outdoor mask mandate.

- Boston Mayor Kim Janey says the city is going to be reopening but in most cases, about three weeks later than the rest of the state.

KIM JANEY: In some areas, Boston will join the Commonwealth in the next steps of reopening. In other areas, Boston will need additional time. In every aspect of Boston's reopening, we will take the right measures at the right time to protect our people and promote our businesses.

- Now, this decision puts Boston at a 100% reopening date on August 22. But Janey says Boston will follow the state and ease the outdoor mask rules on Friday.
