Boston: Inmate absconds from North Sea Camp open prison
An inmate has absconded from North Sea Camp prison in Boston, Lincolnshire.
James Joseph Smyth, 57, who is serving a sentence for grievous bodily harm and robbery, failed to return at 14:00 BST on 30 April after an agreed temporary release, Lincolnshire Police said.
He was last seen just after 07:30 on 30 April, walking along the river towards the city centre in York.
Police are appealing for help to locate Smyth who is known to have connections with Leeds and West Yorkshire.
Smyth is described as white, 6ft 1in (185cm), of slim build and around 64kg (10 stone). He has long grey-brown hair, usually worn in a top knot, a long grey beard and moustache, and green eyes.
He sometimes wears glasses, has a scar on his nose and left eye lid and a distinctive tattoo on his left wrist with the words 'Daniel' and 'Tracey', according to police.
He also has a tattoo of a devil on his right shoulder.
Lincolnshire Police are advising the public not to approach him if seen but to call the force on 101 and quote incident 387 of 30 April.
