Boston Market evicted from Aldrich Plaza in Howell. Is a return possible?

HOWELL - Boston Market has closed on Route 9 after an eviction notice was pasted on the door.

The store, located at the Aldrich Plaza shopping center, is now listed as closed on Boston Market’s website.

In a statement to What's Going There on Monday, Boston Market said it is working to resolve the issue. "We are aware of the situation at our Howell, NJ location and are actively working with our landlord on a resolution so Boston Market can continue serving the community," the company said.

The “Warrant of Removal,” affixed to both doors, is dated June 21 and signed by a Monmouth County court officer.

The closure is the latest rough spot for Boston Market at the Jersey Shore and leaves the quick-service restaurant chain with two restaurants in Monmouth and Ocean counties. One is on Route 37 in Toms River and the other is on Route 35 in Shrewsbury.

In January 2020, Boston Market closed its restaurant on Brick Boulevard in Brick. The restaurant was located at Riviera Plaza shopping center for 25 years. In April 2020, at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the eatery’s spots in Middletown and Howell closed. While Howell later reopened, Middletown did not.
