Republicans across the nation are expressing shock and outrage after learning that the FBI on Monday carried out a search of former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago home in Florida. Here's a sample of what Pennsylvania's GOP politicians are saying on social media and in public statements:
Mehmet Oz, GOP nominee for U.S. Senate
America is bitterly divided, & what Pres. Biden’s FBI and DOJ did last night will only make things worse. Americans have every right to be upset & demand answers on why this raid happened in the most aggressive action taken against a former president ever in our nation’s history.

Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, R-1st District
As the only FBI Agent in Congress, I’ve been getting many inquiries regarding tonight’s reported enforcement action at Mar-a-Lago. I will get to the bottom of this, will follow the facts wherever they lead, and will report with unimpeachable integrity. I will get to the truth.

Doug Mastriano, Pennsylvania state senator and Republican gubernatorial nominee
"The raid on Mar-a-Lago was an unprecedented assault on the fundamental norms of the American legal system and represents an outrageous weaponization of America’s tools of justice against political opponents of the current regime in Washington, DC.," he said in a statement.
“At the same time, this assault should serve as an urgent call to all freedom-loving patriots to exercise their votes and throw the bums out – Democrats in Washington and Harrisburg – who are behind the destruction of our freedoms. Rebbie and I are praying for President Trump and his family in the wake of this egregious violation of justice.”
Stacy Garrity, Pennsylvania treasurer and candidate for Congress
Yesterday's FBI raid was an attack not only on our former president but an attack on the Constitution, the rule of law, and the American people.

So far this year, CBP arrested more than 50 terrorists at our southern border but we have no idea how many evaded capture and entered our country.
The FBI should be answering that question, not harassing a former president.https://t.co/1hy8uavHTT— Rep. Guy Reschenthaler (@GReschenthaler) August 9, 2022
