Bottoms Says Atlanta Could Soon Move To Phase 3 Of Reopening Plan

ATLANTA, GA — Atlanta could soon move to phase three of the five phase reopening plan, said Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms Wednesday.

The city could move forward with its plan as early as next week if coronavirus cases continue decreasing, reported the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Last week officials announced that some COVID-19 guidelines would slightly change to allow small gatherings of no more than 10 people. Residents are still being asked, however, to stay home except for essential trips and to wear face masks in public.

Bottoms is also asking residents to complete the 2020 U.S. Census forms. She said the city is expanding its outreach efforts to improve response rates among Atlantans.
