Nov. 1—Eldora Ski Resort is opening Friday after receiving 15 inches of snow this past weekend.

Previously the resort was planning to open Nov. 17.

Eldora Marketing Director Sam Bass said along with the snowfall, the cold temperatures aided the park in making the snow needed to open the park.

"Our incredible employees have done it again," Brent Tregaskis, Eldora's president and general manager, stated in a release. "Thanks to their monumental efforts, we're able to open this Friday ... Along with our beloved guests, our team members are what make Eldora such a special place, and the go-to gathering spot for local skiers and riders for more than 60 years. We're the perfect half-day mountain, where you can grab a couple hours of rejuvenating snow time and then get on with your day."

First-day attendees will be able to hit the slopes starting at 9 a.m., when the Alpenglow chair lift opens. The lift will then be useable from 9 a.m. through 5 p.m. seven days a week during early-season operations when weather and conditions allow, according to the release.

Guests who are hoping to start on beginner hills will have to hold off this Friday, as no beginner, terrain, lessons, uphill access, or Nordic/snowshoe trails will be open.

In the release, Bass announced that skiers and snowboarders will get to enjoy muffins and music on opening day. Those with Eldora passes who reloaded their cars from last season as well as Ikon pass holders can held straight to the lift.

Eldora passes can be picked up at automated pick-up boxes at Indian peaks Lodge using the QR code in the holder's confirmation email, according to the release.

Bass suggested guests upload a photo and sign a waiver to avoid being stalled at the gate.

Day tickets can be purchased online at store.eldora.com and then picked up at the Pick-Up Box using the confirmation email's QR code, according to the release.

Bass also reminds guest that Eldora is now cashless.
