- The City of Boulder will close down Royal Arch Trail next week to do some repair work. The popular spot has suffered some heavy erosion over the years. The Open Space and Mountain Parks Department will install an 18-foot bridge to help hikers pass through that area safely, and then in May they do plan to build a new staircase to the route. That closure could be as early as next Monday, through April 16.
