Boulder Community Health Foundation approves funding for community organizations

Aug. 25—The Boulder Community Health Foundation voted to approve $148,750 in funding for several community organizations.

Two of the six organizations receiving funds, the Boulder Valley Humane Society and the 3rd Law Dance Theater's Dance for Parkinson's Program, are new to partnering with the BCH Foundation.

The other four organizations — the Boulder County AIDS Project, Love for Lily, Blue Sky Bridge and the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless — are existing BCH Foundation partners.

The BCH Foundation announced three funding focus areas this year: giving community members a "fair and just opportunity to reach their full health potential," providing an "innovative, patient-centered environment" for people needing care, and investing in the growth and well-being of staff and physicians, according to a news release.

"While (BCH) cannot solve for all the health barriers the greater Boulder community faces, the foundation can enhance access to health care and provide social and economic support to improve the health and well-being of BCH patients and the larger patient community," Riley Bright, BCH Foundation Program Officer, stated in the release.
