Boulder drinking water quality report now available

Mar. 24—Editor's note: This story has been updated.

Boulder announced Friday that the annual Drinking Water Quality Report is now available to view online.

Each year, Boulder publishes its findings discussing the quality of drinking water in the city. This year's report also includes regulatory monitoring results for 2022.

The report details changes in the lead and copper monitoring schedules. The city has been placed on a reduced monitoring schedule due to low levels of lead and copper in drinking water. These levels will now be measured every three years.

The only violation found in the report was a violation of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment's backflow prevention rule. The report explains that this violation is not an emergency and poses no risk to public health. Additional resources and process improvements are being brought on to ensure compliance in 2023.
