Boulder to hold remembrance in honor of those lost in King Soopers shooting

Mar. 14—Boulder and local partners will hold a remembrance event on March 22 to mark the two years since 10 people were killed during a mass shooting at King Soopers in south Boulder.

"Our community has demonstrated incredible resilience in the two years that have passed since the tragedy," said Mayor Aaron Brockett in a news release from the city. "We remain committed to supporting all who were impacted while moving forward together. The Day of Remembrance is a way for us to honor the victims, acknowledge the collective trauma our community has experienced and bring community members together with art and music."

The event will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at eTown Hall, 1535 Spruce St. Doors will open at 5 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Advance registration is required and in-person attendance is limited. People can register at bouldercolorado.gov/boulderstrong. Spanish-English interpretation available The event will also be live streamed.

Community members who are experiencing trauma related to the tragic events of March 22, 2021, can visit the Boulder Strong Resource Center at 2935 Baseline Road, the release said. The center is open to all and is staffed by professionals from Mental Health Partners.
