When is Bourbon & Beyond 2022? Everything to know about this Louisville music festival

After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the world’s largest bourbon and music festival, Bourbon & Beyond, will return to Louisville. The multi-day festival will be held Sept. 15-18 at Highland Festival Grounds, 937 Phillips Lane, at the  Kentucky Exposition Center.

New in 2022, the event has been expanded from three to four days and will include 50 plus bands on three stages, alongside hands-on bourbon workshops and tastings and culinary programming with celebrity chefs.

For 2022, the festival promises a world-class lineup of music including classic rock, Americana, alt-rock and bluegrass. This year's headliners include Pearl Jam, Chris Stapleton, Kings of Leon, Jack White, Brandi Carlile, Alanis Morissette, Greta Van Fleet and The Doobie Brothers 50th Anniversary, featuring Michael McDonald, Pat Simmons, Tom Johnston and John McFee.

Fresh off winning three Grammys at the 2022 awards, Staffordsville, Kentucky native Stapleton is one of several artists performing at this year's Bourbon & Beyond festival with roots in Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Gary Brewer and The Kentucky Ramblers help kick off the festival Thursday. New Albany, Indiana's Houndmouth takes the stage Friday, and Louisville native Ben Thornewill and his band Jukebox The Ghost are part of Sunday's lineup along with Stapleton, who headlines that evening.

The 2022 Grammy award winner for Best Blues Album, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, and Brandi Carlile, a nominee at the 64th Grammy Awards, will also perform at this year's festival.
