QUINCY, MI. — The Quincy Oriole bowling program split with Homer on Monday night as the Trojans traveled to Midway Lanes in Coldwater for a Quincy home meet.

In the boys completion the Orioles ran away with the win, defeating Homer by the score of 28-2.

Quincy jumped out to an early lead by capturing all 10 baker points, winning by a score of 265-253. The boys then took four of the five game one singles wins, led by Brady Harper with a 209. Also adding to the Oriole effort was Dave MIlliman with a 143; Tyler Short with a 169; and Maverick Walp with a 169.

In game two the Orioles again were dominant, led by Short with a 213; Walp with a 183; Grant Wright with a 146; and Carson White with a 167. Quincy shot scores of 807 and 884 to take the overall total 1691-1528 en route to the win.

In the girls portion of the night it was Quincy falling to Homer by the score of 17-13.

Quincy struggled out of the gate, dropping baker game one with a 99, but rallied to take game two by one pin at 110-109, although Homer took the overall points total as well.

In game one it was Quincy coming out on fire with high scoring by Kaitlyn Otis with a 107; Ella Worden with a 110 and Madison Wineland with a 122, as the Orioles outshot Homer 600-556.

Game two belonged to Homer as the Orioles managed just two overall individual points with Wineland shooting a 145 and Jenica Kaser rolling a 140. The girls dropped the contest 1183-1202 to fall 17-13.

In JV action the Orioles defeated Homer by the score of 28-2.

The boys jumped out to an early lead with all 10 baker points, followed by all five Quincy bowlers scoring in game one. Leading the JV bowling effort was Caleb Kelley with a 134; Tyler White with a 136; Max Stetler with a 136; Dylan Sadger with a 157; and Cameron Barry with a 140.

Game two saw the Orioles secure three more points, led by Kelley with a 126; White with a 164; Sadger with a 186; and Nathan Richer with an 81, while also helping big in baker game.

Bronson bowling sweeps Schoolcraft

BRONSON, MI. — The Bronson Viking bowling program continued their winning ways Monday night, sweeping the Schoolcraft Eagles in both the boys and girls contest.

In the girls victory it was Bronson taking the 28-2 win over the Eagles.

Bronson swept the baker games, winning game one 152-134 and game two 152-137 to take a quick 10-0 lead after also claiming the overall baker score.

Bronson put things away in the regular games, winning game one 659-593 and game two 778-533 for an overall total win of 1437-1126.

Leading the Bronson effort was Morgan McConn with games of 147 and 202 while Hadassah Bloom added games of 160 and 193.

Also adding to the Viking effort was Savannah Taylor with a 101; Heidi Squires with a 110; Jasmine Jewett with a 152; Bailee Smith with a 78; and Tenleigh Watkins with games of 141 and 153.

In the boys contest the Vikings rolled to the big 28-2 victory.

Bronson started by sweeping the baker points, winning game one 204-126 and game two 168-132 while also taking the overall total for a quick 10-0 lead.

The Vikings put things away in the regular games, winning 850-571 and 741-577 for a total of 1591-1148.

Leading the way for Bronson was Phoenix Haviland with games of 198 and 178 for a 368. Also adding to the Viking win was Hunter Woodman with a 148; Shaun McAfee with games of 179 and 143; Nic Cranson with games of 200 and 126; Tyler Overholt with games of 133 and 137; and Logan Cline with a game of 157.

Coldwater boys bowling competes in Sturgis Trojan Invite

STURGIS, MI. — The Coldwater Cardinal boys varsity bowling team spent the weekend in competition at the Trojan Invitational.

Coldwater faced several teams they will see in regionals later this month and bowled well, placing fifth out of 14 teams.

Coldwater bowled two regular games of 799 and 859 and added two four game baker blocks, with totals of 593 and 657, to finish with a total of 2908 in the qualifying round. With their total the Cardinals just missed the cut for bracket play by eight pins, finishing in fifth place out of 14 teams.

The top five bowers combining the two regular game scores were chosen as the All Tournament Team and Coldwater’s Chase Rubley earned All Tournament status, placing fifth with a total of 371.
