Boy, 13, in ‘grave condition’ after he was shot in the head in McKinley Park neighborhood

A 13-year-old boy was critically wounded early Sunday in the city’s McKinley Park neighborhood on
the South Side.

The boy was riding a bicycle when he was struck in the head and neck by shots from a car driving in the 3700 block of South Wood Street just before 8 a.m., according to Chicago police, citing preliminary details.

The boy was rushed to Stroger Hospital in grave condition, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

No arrests had been made.
