Boy, 13, killed in off-road vehicle accident in Illinois

MANLIUS TOWNSHIP — A 13-year-old boy died while riding an off-road vehicle through an intersection near Manlius on July 12.

The vehicle was in the intersection of Backbone Road and 2300 North Avenue when it collided with a Jeep driven by a 61-year-old woman. The boy was declared dead at the scene.

The Bureau County Sheriff's Office and emergency responders from Manlius, Sheffield, Walnut and Buda responded to the accident, and the Illinois State Police is investigating. Names are being withheld until family members are notified.
