VIDEO: Gunman opens fire on 15-year-old boy in broad-daylight shooting in Brooklyn

A gunman fired across a bustling Brooklyn avenue in a broad-daylight shooting that left a 15-year-old boy in critical condition Monday, according to police and witnesses.

Surveillance footage obtained by the Daily News shows the gunman wearing a dark hoodie and black mask walking southwest on 20th Ave. near 62nd St. in Bensonhurst around 1 p.m.

The masked menace appears to be among a group of about six other teens, who the video shows looking across the street toward their off-camera target.

That’s when the gunman pulls a pistol and fires several shots across 20th Ave., at least one of which strikes the teenage victim in his back, according to police.

Medics rushed him to Maimonides Medical Center in critical condition.

After the shooting, video shows the gunman fleeing southwest on 20th Ave. while his cohort scatters in multiple directions, including a pair of teens who head north — before suddenly darting south after the shooter.

A deli worker who witnessed the brazen attack said the victim was among a group of other teens when the shooting occurred.

“There were two groups of young men around — one on the side of my store and the other on the opposite,” said Cesar Poucio, who works at God Bless You Deli on 20th Ave.

There were no immediate arrests, and it wasn’t clear what sparked the shooting.

The Daily News reported Sunday that 10% of the 620 people shot in the city through July 9 were under the age of 18.
