Boy, 5, and dad splashed with hot oil in Brooklyn cookout fight, woman arrested

A 5-year-old boy and his father were hospitalized after being splashed with hot oil during a crazed fight at a Brooklyn cookout that lead to a woman’s arrest, police said Monday.

A group got into an argument during a cookout after a soccer game at Linden St. and Wilson Ave. in Bushwick about 10:50 p.m. Sunday, cops said.

During the spat, Felisa Deltoro, 36, allegedly knocked over a pot of hot oil, burning the little boy and his dad.

At some point in the melee, a 15-year-old boy possibly related to Deltoro was hit over the head. He was later treated at Maimonides Medical Center.

The burned boy was treated at New York-Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell for injuries to his arm and back. His father, 27, was treated at the same hospital for burns to his foot.

Deltoro was arrested for assault and reckless endangerment. Following arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court, she was held on a $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
