Boy, 5, killed in Englewood crash after car jumps curb: CPD

A 5-year-old boy was killed Friday night when a car jumped a curb and hit him, while he was walking with his family in Englewood, Chicago police said.

JESSE KIRSCH: And Mark and Stacey, an awful story. Police telling us that little boy's mother and sibling were right there when this collision happened. Police say in the 600 block of West Marquette around 11 o'clock last night, a 44-year-old man was driving westbound when his SUV hit an electrical box, which caused him to strike the five-year-old boy before crashing into a building.

That little boy was taken here to Comer Children's Hospital, where we are now, where the little boy was pronounced dead according to police, who say the driver and a 48-year-old woman, who was his passenger, were both taken to the University of Chicago in good condition. I've been on the phone with police this morning, and at this point, the investigation is ongoing. Police also telling us there were no other injuries.
