Boy on bike killed in crash near T or C

Mar. 2—ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — An 11-year-old boy on a bicycle was killed after being hit by a vehicle on New Mexico State Road 187 south of Truth or Consequences last week, New Mexico State Police announced on Monday.

Police said that on Feb. 25 at about 6:45 p.m., a 2006 Chevrolet passenger vehicle was driving northbound near mile marker 19 when, for an unknown reason, a boy on a bicycle crossed into the northbound lane, where he was struck.

The child was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police didn't release his identity.

Police said alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
