Ben Savage is ready to meet the world of politics.

The former “Boy Meets World” star is running for the West Hollywood City Council, saying the Southern California city “deserves sensible, honest and strong leadership.”

“The city is facing serious challenges around public safety, struggling businesses, inflation and the cost of housing. We need new leaders with a fresh perspective who are ready to begin tackling these issues,” Savage says on his campaign website.

“We need to restore faith in city government by offering reasonable, innovative and compassionate solutions to the city’s most pressing issues. We need to increase and expand access to all the great opportunities West Hollywood affords, by ensuring that every member of the community has the tools they need to succeed.”

The Chicago-born actor says he’s lived in West Hollywood for the past 18 years. His campaign website urges residents to vote for Savage on Nov. 8.

Savage is best known for portraying protagonist Cory Matthews on “Boy Meets World,” which depicts the character’s life from childhood to adulthood. He also stars on the spinoff series “Girl Meets World,” which centers on Cory’s daughter.

The 41-year-old actor is the younger brother of “The Wonder Years” star Fred Savage, who was recently fired as an executive producer on a reboot of that series following multiple misconduct allegations against him.

“Recently, we were made aware of allegations of inappropriate conduct by Fred Savage, and as is policy, an investigation was launched,” a 20th Television spokesman told Deadline in a statement in a May report. “Upon its completion, the decision was made to terminate his employment as an executive producer and director of The Wonder Years.”
