Boys basketball: Near-perfect free-throw shooting helps Ohio County down Henderson County

BEAVER DAM, Ky. -- Ohio County's near-perfect free-throw shooting helped send the Eagles to a 56-48 win over Henderson County on Saturday.

The Third Region contender made 14 of its 15 free-throw attempts and was 8-of-9 in the fourth quarter as the Eagles outscored the Colonels 17-7 in the final period to take the win.

Henderson County (16-10) had a 41-39 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

Gerard Thomas scored 13 points to lead the Colonels in scoring.

Josh Manning led Ohio County (17-6) with 18 points as he hit four 3-pointers.

Henderson County has three games on the schedule for the final week of the regular season beginning with Monday's trip to Hancock County.
