Boys’ basketball rewind: Cannon School stops Latin, takes first place in CISAA
Cannon School got a big 88-67 win against Charlotte Latin on Tuesday that pushed the Cougars — just barely — to the top of the CISAA conference.
Cannon (20-7, 4-1) is just ahead of Covenant Day (15-6, 3-1) and Providence Day (17-6, 3-1) in a race that’s getting very tight.
Cannon plays at Covenant Day on Friday, and will play at Providence Day next month.
On Tuesday, the Cougars led Charlotte Latin (11-9, 1-3) by one point after the first quarter, but blew open the game in the second by outscoring Latin, 24-4.
Austin Swartz, a Miami Hurricanes signee, led Cannon with 21 points. Junior Isaiah Henry and freshman Lincoln Vinson each scored 17 points.
