Boys basketball roundup: Late free throws lift Webberville; Olivet, Lansing Catholic win

WEBBERVILLE -- The Spartans made some key free throws in the final minute to give Webberville a fourth straight win in a victory over Flint Hamady (3-3, 3-3). Nate Lott II led with 36 points, nine assists and seven steals and Kolson Lycos finished with a double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds to go with four assists for Webberville (5-2, 2-0). JV score: Hamady 87, Webberville 22

CHARLOTTE 58, EATON RAPIDS 41

CHARLOTTE -- Cutler Brandt finished with a game-high in scoring with 21 points as the Orioles secured a CAAC White win over Eaton Rapids. Braden Hill tallied 17 points, six rebounds and five steals and Chase Oversmith hauled in eight rebounds for Charlotte (2-5, 1-3). Trey Acker scored 11 points and Trey Orr chipped in 10 points for the Greyhounds (3-5, 2-2).

LANSING CATHOLIC 78, PORTLAND 32

Senior guard Alex Watters led the Cougars with a team-high 17 points to propel Lansing Catholic to a CAAC White win over rival Portland (2-6, 2-2). Dean Jacobs finished with 16 points and Luciano Guerrazzi chipped in nine points and hauled in 10 rebounds for Lansing Catholic (5-4, 2-1).

OLIVET 60, STOCKBRIDGE 47

OLIVET -- The Eagles were led by Brayden Wine with a team-high 15 points as Olivet stays unbeaten with a home GLAC win over Stockbridge (4-7, 2-1). Tayven Feldpausch tallied 13 points six rebounds and three steals, Drew Priddy picked up 12 points and six rebounds and Bo Lincoln finished with 10 points, six assists and three steals for Olivet (8-0, 4-0).

SAGINAW HERITAGE 70, HOLT 55

SAGINAW -- Jayden Stone had 27 points on 10 of 18 shooting from the field for the Rams (3-3) in their nonleague loss. Jakari Conway scored eight points for Holt.

SEXTON 39, IONIA 35

Devon Hodges-Smith had a team-high 11 points as the Big Reds outlasted Ionia (6-2, 3-1). Charleston Rogers added eight points for Sexton (3-4, 2-1).

MAPLE VALLEY 42, LESLIE 36

VERMONTVILLE -- Ben Schuch led the Lions with a team-high 14 points to push Maple Valley to a home GLAC victory over Leslie. Chase Courtney tacked on nine points for Maple Valley (1-6, 1-3). Zack Marciniak led all scorers with 16 points and Ethan Kaimon chipped in nine points for the Blackhawks (2-5, 0-3).

LAKEWOOD 59, LANSING CHRISTIAN 38

LAKE ODESSA -- Four players reached double figures for the Vikings en route to a GLAC home win over Lansing Christian. Caleb Hull scored a team-high 12 points, Nate Willette finished with 11 points and Jayce Cusack and Preston Makley each chipped in 10 points for Lakewood (7-1, 3-0). Ben Sullivan led all scorers with 21 points for the Pilgrims (0-6, 0-4).

CORUNNA 46, ORTONVILLE BRANDON 42

ORTONVILLE -- Wyatt Bower scored a team-high 16 points to help the Cavaliers outlast Ortonville Brandon (3-5, 2-4) for a Flint Metro League victory. Peyton Termeer scored 15 points, Tarick Bower tallied eight points and seven steals and Dylan quirk pulled down five rebounds for Corunna (4-3, 3-3).

GENESEE CHRISTIAN 67, MORRICE 30

MORRICE -- Brett McGowan scored a team-high nine points for the Orioles in a GAC loss to Genesee Christian (6-1, 3-1). Aaron Davis tallied five points and Drew McGowan grabbed seven rebounds for Morrice (3-5, 1-3).
