Boys basketball roundup: Grand Ledge halts skid with double-OT win over Okemos

GRAND LEDGE — Elyjah Hendricks had 15 points, including eight in the second overtime, to help the Comets halt a three-game losing streak with a key CAAC Blue win over Okemos (13-2, 6-2). Grand Ledge outscored Okemos, 13-4, in the second overtime to sweep the regular-season series between the teams. Teddy Williams added 12 points and 15 rebounds and freshman Braden James added 12 points for Grand Ledge (11-5, 5-4).

SEXTON 73, EATON RAPIDS 62

Da'John Chandler had 25 points and Keyshawn Summerville added 20 points for the J-Dubbs (9-8, 5-3) in their CAAC Blue victory over Eaton Rapids. Hurley Young added 15 points and Markese Murray finished with nine points for Sexton.

PEWAMO-WESTPHALIA 67, DANSVILLE 51

WESTPHALIA — Jamison Eklund surpassed 1,000 career points for the Pirates in a CMAC home win over Dansville. Grady Eklund picked up a team-high 28 points, Jamison Eklund finished with 21 points and Luke Smith chipped in eight points for Pewamo-Westphalia (12-3, 8-1). Cody Ream notched a team-high 18 points, Drew Frantz scored 16 points and Dylan Ream added 11 points for the Aggies (8-8, 5-4).

EASTERN 60, ST. JOHNS 50

Tavion Harden picked up a team-high 17 points along with nine rebounds, five blocks and three steals to lead the Quakers in a CAAC Red win over St. Johns (9-6, 4-4). Kyren McKnight tallied 15 points, four assists and four steals and Myles Edmond chipped in 11 points for Eastern (10-6, 4-4).

LAINGSBURG 75, PORTLAND ST. PATRICK 38

LAINGSBURG — The Division 3 No. 2-ranked Wolfpack made it 16 straight victories as they secured a CMAC home win over Portland St. Patrick. Zander Woodruff notched 21 points, Luke Snyder and Jacob Essenberg each scored 10 points and Ty Randall added nine points for Laingsburg (16-0, 9-0). Charlie Thelen tallied a team-high 14 points for the Shamrocks (4-9, 3-7).

OLIVET 51, LANSING CHRISTIAN 26

OLIVET — The Division 2 No. 3-ranked Eagles claimed a share of the GLAC title with their win over Lansing Christian. Tayven Feldpausch had 15 points and Brayden Wine added 12 points and seven rebounds for Olivet (17-0, 10-0). Drew Priddy added eight points and seven rebounds for the Eagles. Benji Sambaer paced Lansing Christian (11-6, 5-4) with 10 points.

MASON 73, FOWLERVILLE 48

FOWLERVILLE — Kaleb Parish led all scorers with 29 points to propel the Bulldogs to a CAAC Red road victory over Fowlerville. Luke Marlan chipped in 10 points for Mason (14-2, 8-0). Brendan Ray picked up a team-high 11 points and Alex Jonas and Wyatt Soli each tacked on eight points for the Gladiators (3-11, 1-7).

OVID-ELSIE 49, DURAND 47

DURAND — Clay Wittenberg hit the go-ahead basket with two seconds left to help the Marauders pick up a MMAC road victory over Durand (14-3, 10-2). Tryce Tokar scored a team-high 17 points, Wittenberg notched a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds and Hunter Bates tacked on eight points and 15 rebounds for Ovid-Elsie (14-2, 11-1).

BATH 75, FOWLER 65 (OT)

BATH — The Bees outscored Fowler 16-6 in overtime to secure the tight CMAC home victory. DeVondre Chandler led all scorers with 36 points and grabbed seven rebounds and Remington McCrimmon scored 17 points for Bath (4-11, 2-7). Alex Halfmann picked up a team-high 16 points, Aaron Simon and Jacob Halfmann each tallied 15 points and Nathan Hamilton added eight points for the Eagles (8-6, 5-4).

LESLIE 45, STOCKBRIDGE 38

STOCKBRIDGE -- Zack Marciniak and Ethan Kaimon each picked up a team-high 10 points to help the Blackhawks outlast Stockbridge for the GLAC road win. Jared Peck tacked on eight points for Leslie (12-4, 7-2). Kegan Collins led all scorers with 17 points and Joey Ballagh added 13 points for the Panthers (7-8, 3-7).

HASLETT 74, WILLIAMSTON 58

WILLIAMSTON — D’Angelo Fitzpatrick led the Vikings with a team-high 21 points as Haslett secured a CAAC Red win over Williamston (3-15, 1-7). Erik Lardie notched 15 points, Brayden Stellard scored 13 points and Zack Nartker tacked on 12 points for Haslett (4-13, 3-5).

CORUNNA 58, CLIO 39

CLIO — Peyton Termeer finished with 20 points and six rebounds for the Cavaliers in their Flint Metro League Stars win. Brevin Boilore added nine points for Corunna (12-3, 6-2).

BAY CITY JOHN GLENN 49, ALMA 47

BAY CITY — Cade Sutherland had 11 points for the Panthers (9-7, 6-5) in their TVC loss. Michael Howey added nine points for Alma.

LAKE FENTON 63, OWOSSO 20

OWOSSO — Andrew Lewis scored a team-high seven points for the Trojans (0-18, 0-9) in a Flint Metro League loss to Lake Fenton (11-6, 7-2).
