Boys basketball roundup: Ionia, DeWitt, Portland among winners

IONIA 63, ST. JOHNS 51

IONIA — Miles Gregory picked up a game-high 29 points help the Bulldogs stay undefeated with a nonleague win over St. Johns. Lance Atkinson tallied 10 points and hauled in nine rebounds for Ionia (9-0). Carson Pieters finished with a team-high 19 points and Logan Schroeder added 12 points for the Redwings (6-3). DeWITT 63, HASLETT 47

DeWITT — An early 15-5 run was key for the Panthers in their home victory over Haslett. Adam Flannery tallied a game-high 24 points and Bryce Kurncz picked up 16 points for DeWitt (7-3). D’Angelo Fitzpatrick scored a team-high 19 points and Erik Lardie added 13 points for the Vikings (2-8).

GRAND LEDGE 52, PINCKNEY 48

PINCKNEY — Teddy Williams had 15 points and 15 rebounds for the Comets in their nonleague win. Caleb Estrada added 10 points and five assists for Grand Ledge.

HOLT 70, WILLIAMSTON 51

HOLT -- Carter Bishop led the Rams with a team-high 26 points to help Holt notch a nonleague win over Williamston (3-11). Donye Thomas picked up 18 points and Isaiah Foster chipped in eight points for Holt (7-4). JV score: Holt 54, Williamston 50

PORTLAND 57, BATH 43

BATH — Evan Gross scored a team-high 14 points for the Raiders in a nonleague road win over Bath. Chris Battley tallied 14 points, Dominic Novara picked up 10 points and Kayden Dickerson tacked on nine points for Portland (4-5). DeVondre Chandler led all scorers with 19 points, seven rebounds and three steals, Jake Kuhn notched seven points and seven rebounds and Sam Wonch chipped in seven points (1-6).

ALMA 66, ITHACA 59

ALMA — The Panthers jumped out to a big early lead while getting a win over Ithaca in a TVC crossover. Michael Howey had 16 points, Sam Rosales scored 12 points and Jacoby Dunlap had 10 points for Alma (6-3). Bronson Bupp led Ithaca with 15 points.

CORUNNA 58, FENTON 55

Brevin Boilore finished with 15 points and Braylon Socia scored 13 for the Cavaliers in their nonleague victory. AJ Brieger added 11 points, five rebounds and two assists for Corunna.

WEBBERVILLE 59, PORTLAND ST. PATRICK 50

PORTLAND — Chase Abner led all scorers with 31 points, going 8 of 10 from three as the Spartans notched a nonleague road victory over Portland St. Patrick. Tate Mills tallied eight points and pulled down nine rebounds for Webberville (4-6). Jerryd Scheurer scored a team-high 13 points for the Shamrocks (1-6). PERRY 44, MAPLE VALLEY 34

VERMONTVILLE — Chanse Courtney picked up a team-high 16 points and hauled in six rebounds for the Lions in a GLAC loss to Perry (5-6, 2-2). Ayden Wilkes notched 11 points and dished out three assists for Maple Valley (4-6, 0-4).

LINDEN 55, OWOSSO 46

LINDEN — Andrew Lewis tallied a team-high 11 points and hauled in six rebounds for the Trojans in a road defeat to Linden (4-5). Caleb Fields scored six points and Nathan Parsons chipped in five points for Owosso (0-12).

FLINT HAMADY 83, MORRICE 19

MORRICE — Travis Farrow scored a team-high seven points for the Orioles (1-8) in a nonleague defeat to Flint Hamady (8-1).
