Boys basketball roundup: Mason, Olivet finish strong in home wins

MASON -- The Bulldogs went 12 for 14 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter while recording a nonleague win over Fenton (3-1). Levi Stambaugh led the Bulldogs with 23 points. Austin Stone scored 16 points, Colin Page and Tyler Baker each tallied 12 points and Luke Marlan added eight for Mason (2-1). JV score: Mason 54, Fenton 29

OLIVET 67, BATTLE CREEK HARPER CREEK 61

OLIVET -- Bo Lincoln had 21 points, including 12 in the final quarter, and added five rebounds and three assists while helping the Eagles (3-0) to the nonleague win. Drew Priddy added 13 points and Tayven Feldpausch had 11 points, six rebounds and three assists for Olivet.

OKEMOS 61, DEWITT 28

OKEMOS -- Hudson Grienke led all scorers with 13 points to lead the Wolves to a CAAC Blue victory over DeWitt. Joey Smith picked up 12 points and Collin Alexander dished out four assists for Okemos (3-0, 2-0). Bryce Kurncz notched a team-high 12 points for the Panthers (2-1, 0-1). ST. JOHNS 52, HOLT 48

Donye Thomas had 16 points and Carter Bishop and Isaiah Foster each scored 10 for Holt in a loss to St. Johns.

IONIA 61, LAKEWOOD 44

LAKE ODESSA -- The Bulldogs broke things open with a 24-11 run in the second quarter en route to a nonleague win over Lakewood. Lance Atkinson tallied 21 points and nine rebounds, Mason Doty scored 10 points and Miles Gregory added nine points for Ionia (2-1). Jayce Cusack finished with a game-high 23 points and Landon Makley chipped in eight points for the Vikings (1-3). JV score: Ionia d. Lakewood

WILLIAMSTON 68, LANSING CATHOLIC 37

WILLIAMSTON -- Senior Brooks Cline finished with a team-high 16 points to push the Hornets to a nonleague home win over Lansing Catholic (1-1). Zach Cribbs and Mac McCune each tacked on 10 points for Williamston (1-3).

PEWAMO-WESTPHALIA 80, DANSVILLE 36

DANSVILLE -- Jamison Eklund finished with a game-high 23 points to help guide the Pirates to a CMAC road win over Dansville. Kash Pohl picked up 11 points and Grady Eklund and Trevor Spitzley each added nine points for Pewamo-Westphalia (2-0, 1-0). Elijah Neal and Cody Ream each scored a team-high eight points for the Aggies (0-4, 0-2).

POTTERVILLE 54, BATH 36

BATH -- A 19-point fourth quarter from the Vikings propelled them to a CMAC road victory. DaMarion Hicks finished with a game-high 21 points and Chris Hicks notched 18 points for Potterville (2-1, 1-0). Jacob Kuhn tallied 12 points and five rebounds and Devondre Chandler tacked on seven points for the Bees (1-1, 0-1).

OVID-ELSIE 52, NEW LOTHROP 42

ELSIE -- Clay Wittenburg finished with a team-high 23 points and hauled in seven rebounds to push the Marauders to a MMAC victory over New Lothrop (0-2, 0-2). Logan Thompson finished with 15 points and Gunner McCreery chipped in nine points for Ovid-Elsie (3-0, 2-0).

PORTLAND ST. PATRICK 72, SARANAC 44

Brayden Simon turned in a double-double with 26 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Shamrocks in their CMAC win. Jerryd Scheurer and Charlie Thelen added 10 points and Landon Simpson had eight points, seven assists and five steals for St. Patrick.

BATTLE CREEK PENNFIELD 48, EATON RAPIDS 45

EATON RAPIDS -- Braylon Nobach picked up a team-high 15 points for the Greyhounds as they fell just short in a nonleague loss to Battle Creek Pennfield (2-1). Andrew Pant finished with eight points for Eaton Rapids (0-3).

MICHIGAN CENTER 64, LESLIE 55

MICHIGAN CENTER -- Zack Marciniak led all scorers with 21 points for the Blackhawks in a nonleague road defeat against Michigan Center (2-2). Bronson Clayton and Kaleb each tacked on eight points for Leslie (2-1).

BURTON MADISON ACADEMY 72, MORRICE 30

MORRICE -- Travis Farrow finished with a team-high 14 points for the Orioles (1-3, 0-2) in a GAC Blue loss to Burton Madison Academy (3-0, 1-0).
