Boys Basketball Roundup: Streaks fall, Blue Bullets victors, and United moves to 16-4
GALESBURG BOYS BASKETBALL
Streaks upended by Maroons
MOLINE — The Galesburg High School boys basketball team fell to Moline 76-49 on Friday night in Western Big 6 Conference action at historic Wharton Field House.
Senior point guard Jeremiah Babers had 15 points to lead the Silver Streaks. Senior post Koen Derry chipped in 10 points for Galesburg (18-5, 4-4).
In sophomore action, the Streaks were edged by the Maroons 59-54. Jace Keith had 16 points to lead the way for Galesburg. Amarie Richardson chipped in a dozen points, and Ayden Almaguer finished with 10 points for the Streaks.
AREA BOYS BASKETBALL
Blue Bullets take Braves
KNOXVILLE — The Knoxville High School boys basketball team moved to 17-5 overall after a 62-38 victory over Annawan on Friday night.
David Hise had 24 points to lead the Blue Bullets. Braden Downs added 14 points, and Beau Honeycutt finished with 10 points for Knoxville.
Titans tame Tigers
MONMOUTH — The Monmouth-Roseville High School boys basketball team handed Sherrard a 51-30 loss on Friday evening at "The Shoebox."
Ben Anderson had 12 points to lead the Titans (12-8). Connor Thompson added 10 points, and Jerome Jackson chipped in nine points for Mon-Rose.
Red Storm take Spartans
WOODHULL — The United High School boys basketball team came away with a 59-52 win over Ridgewood on Friday night.
Abel Wilson had a game-high 28 points for the Red Storm. Cormaic Flynn added 16 points for United (16-4).
Aaron Gotthardt had 23 points to lead the Spartans (15-5). Lucas Kessinger added 13 points, and Keagan Hixson chipped in 11 points for Ridgewood.
West Central tumbles
PRINCEVILLE — The West Central boys basketball team suffered a 42-34 loss to Princeville on Friday evening.
Connor Woodbury led the Heat with 10 points in the defeat.
