Boys basketball roundup: Waverly, Okemos earn CAAC Blue wins, Laingsburg, Olivet stay perfect

DELTA TWP. — Four different players reached double figures in scoring for the Warriors in a CAAC Blue home win over Holt. Deonte Roberts and Trey Miller each tallied 14 points and Keenan Harris and Darrius Welch added 13 points for Waverly (11-4, 6-1). Isaiah Foster led all scorers with 25 points and Donye Thomas tacked on 13 points for the Rams (8-7, 2-5). JV score: Waverly 56, Holt 55

OKEMOS 62, EVERETT 46

OKEMOS — Collin Alexander finished with a game-high 21 points to lead the Wolves to a CAAC Blue home win over Everett. K.J. Torbert tallied 11 points and eight rebounds and Joey Smith hauled in eight rebounds and dished out three assists for Okemos (12-1, 5-1). Lajune Lubrin and T.J. Benson each scored a team-high 12 points for the Vikings (1-15, 0-7). JV score: Okemos 74, Everett 45

LAINGSBURG 71, FOWLER 47

LAINGSBURG — The Division 3 No. 2-ranked Wolfpack remained unbeaten with a CMAC home win over Fowler. Zander Woodruff led all scorers with 32 points, Ty Randall scored 12 points and Luke Snyder secured nine points for Laingsburg (14-0, 8-0). Aaron Simon notched a team-high 16 points for the Eagles (8-5, 5-3).

OLIVET 77, MAPLE VALLEY 43

VERMONTVILLE — The Division 2 No. 4-ranked Eagles broke things open in the third quarter on their way to a GLAC victory over Maple Valley. Bo Lincoln had 32 points and three steals and Drew Priddy finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds for Olivet (15-0, 8-0). Brayden Wine added 11 points and seven rebounds for the Eagles (15-0, 8-0). Ayden Wilkes had 16 points for Maple Valley.

IONIA 68, EATON RAPIDS 36

IONIA — Miles Gregory led the Bulldogs with a game-high 16 points as Ionia secured a CAAC White home win over Eaton Rapids. Lance Atkinson notched a double-double with 10 points and hauled in 11 rebounds for Ionia (13-1, 7-0). Dontae Parker and Braylon Nobach each finished with eight points for the Greyhounds (0-14, 0-7). JV score: Ionia d. Eaton Rapids

SARANAC — Drew Frantz picked up a game-high 24 points to lead the Aggies to a CMAC road win over Saranac. Cody Ream secured 23 points and Elijah Neal chipped in six points for Dansville (7-7, 5-3). Sam Sterzick notched a team-high 17 points and Isaiah Morgan tacked on 14 points for the Red Hawks (1-12, 0-9).

STOCKBRIDGE 48, LAKEWOOD 27

STOCKBRIDGE — Keegan Collins led all scorers with 20 points to help guide the Panthers to a GLAC home win over Lakewood. Joey Ballagh tacked on 11 points for Stockbridge (7-5, 3-5). Eli Jablonski picked up a team-high nine points and Troy Acker chipped in six points for the Vikings (9-7, 5-3).

LESLIE 55, PERRY 35

PERRY — Kaleb Cox led all scorers with 21 points to lead the Blackhawks to a GLAC road victory over Perry. Jayden Colby added on eight points for Leslie (10-4, 5-2). Jylon Peek finished with a team-high 14 points for the Ramblers (5-11, 2-6).

SEXTON 60, LANSING CATHOLIC 53

Dean Jacobs and Padaric Cotter each tallied a team-high 13 points for the Cougars (6-9, 2-5) in a CAAC White loss to Sexton (8-8, 4-3).

OVID-ELSIE 76, BYRON 45

ELSIE — Logan Thompson tallied a game-high 30 points, five rebounds and four steals as the Marauders secured a MMAC home win over Byron (2-11, 2-9). Clay Wittenberg finished with eight points and five rebounds and Braxton Stenger chipped in eight points and dished out five assists for Ovid-Elsie (12-2, 10-1).

WEBBERVILLE 39, MORRICE 27

WEBBERVILLE — Chase Abner led the Spartans with a game-high 14 points in a GAC Blue home win over Morrice. Austin Johnson picked up eight points and three steals and Tate Mills and Kevin Farmer each hauled in 12 rebounds for Webberville (6-11, 3-1). Caden Binkley and Travis Smith each scored a team-high six points and Oliver Long added five points for the Orioles (1-13, 0-6).

ALMA 37, ESSEXVILLE GARBER 34 (OT)

ALMA — Michael Howey had a team-high 13 points and made a pair of free throws with 3 seconds remaining in overtime to help the Panthers hang on for a victory. Garber missed a three-quarter court heave as time expired.
