Boys basketball: Vote now for lohud Player of the Week (Jan. 18-23)

After the busiest week of the regular season to date, our poll for lohud's Boys Basketball Player of the Week is back.

Please read about the finalists and their accomplishments and cast your vote in our poll.

Voting ends at 2 p.m. Tuesday and the winner will be announced on lohud social media accounts Tuesday night.

Conor Wein, a junior guard for unbeaten North Rockland, was named our Player of the Week last week after compiling 36.6% of the vote.

Sean Berrigan, Tappan Zee

The junior guided Tappan Zee to two more victories, this time over Albertus Magnus and Pearl River. He averaged 17 points, highlighted by a 23-point, seven-rebound, six-assists effort against Pearl River. The Dutchmen are now 11-0.

Michael Callahan, Mahopac

The senior point guard led Mahopac to big wins over two of Class A's top teams, John Jay-Cross River and Lourdes. He had 18 points and five assists against John Jay, then added 23 points and five rebounds in Saturday's upset of Lourdes.

Jaeden Carr, Ossining

After scoring his 1,000th point last week, the senior guided Ossining to its two biggest wins of the season. He averaged 17.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists as Ossining took down Mamaroneck and Fox Lane.

Dean Hiltsley, Hen Hud

The junior averaged 17.5 points and 5.0 assists this week for the Sailors. Hiltsley led a comeback against Poughkeepsie that saw Hen Hud fall just short, then helped the team win at Rye 53-49 on Saturday.

Chris Kelty, Bronxville

Although the Broncos finally fell from the ranks of the unbeatens, the senior had four double-doubles last week and netted his 1,000th career point in a win over Irvington. Kelty finished the week averaging 24.3 points and 11.3 rebounds, and also had seven blocks in a loss to Nanuet.

Jayden Larregue, Briarcliff

The senior led the Bears to a 3-0 week that included victories over Class B contenders Bronxville and Valhalla. He averaged 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists.

Charlie Schellhammer, Pelham

The Pelicans continued their strong play, earning key league wins over Rye and Byram Hills. The junior averaged 20.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists in the two contests to help Pelham get to 13-2 on the season.

Roger Squire, North Salem

The senior was busy during a 3-1 week for the Tigers. He averaged 27.5 points and 12.0 rebounds, including 30-plus-point double-doubles in wins over Putnam Valley and Brewster.

Taj Walters, CSEE

The explosive sophomore averaged 28.0 points and 13.5 rebounds per game in a pair of wins over Stevenson and Inwood Academy.
