Boys basketball: Vote now for lohud Player of the Week

Get your thumbs ready. We're hitting the pause button for a quick look back and spotlighting the student/athletes who made headlines on the court. Nominations are submitted each week by the coaches. Read what these finalists got done in between the lines and vote. The poll will remain open until 2 p.m. on Wednesday.

Rankings: A week of consequential matchups shakes up the top 10

Nick Castellano, Westlake

The junior guard had 13 points and seven rebounds in a win over North Salem, 14 points and seven rebounds in a loss to Rye Neck and 21 points and 15 rebounds in a win over Briarcliff.

Sean Holzman, Putnam Valley

The senior guard had 22 points, 13 rebounds and six assists in a win over John Jay-East Fishkill, 17 points, 10 rebounds and four assists in a win over Pawling and eight points and 12 rebounds and seven assists in a win over North Salem.

Chris Kirkland, Clarkstown North

The senior guard averaged 19 points and 4.6 assists in wins over Spring Valley and Ramapo and a loss to Goshen. He also hit 13 times from behind the arc in those contests.

Logan McCormick, White Plains

The junior forward led the Tigers to a pair of league wins, getting 14 points and eight rebounds against Port Chester and 19 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Greeley.

A.J. Rodriguez, Iona Prep

The senior helped the Gaels post three big wins, delivering 15 points, 11 rebounds and three assists against Bishop Loughlin, 19 points and 11 rebounds against St. Raymond and 26 points, 11 rebounds and five assists against Mount Vernon.

Aidan Roy, Mamaroneck

The senior point guard had 25 points in a loss to Mount Vernon, then got 18 points and eight assists before sitting down in the third quarter of a win over Eastchester.

Jake Sussberg, Scarsdale

The sophomore guard collected 10 points and eight rebounds in a loss at Clarkstown South, then got 16 points and 12 rebounds in a win over Mount Vernon, scoring 11 points after the break.

Alex Tavarez, Walter Panas

The senior guard kept pouring in buckets last week, finishing with 34 points, six rebounds and six assists in a win over Peekskill and 32 points, 10 rebounds and six assists in a revenge win at Lakeland.
