Polls are now open for the Varsity 845 boys basketball player of the week for January 30-February 5.
Nominations are pulled from reports sent to Varsity 845. Players from Orange, Ulster and Sullivan counties are eligible.
Go to RecordOnline.com/sports and click on the Varsity 845 boys basketball player of the Week. Vote as often as you like (please, no computer bot voting) until 3 p.m. Friday. Winners will be announced via Twitter @Varsity845.
Athletes who win are ineligible for upcoming polls for the next five weeks; all restrictions will be lifted upon the start of championship season. The recent winners were Carlos Alvarado of Fallsburg (Dec. 12-18), Jimmy Kelly of Goshen (Jan. 2-8), Eugene Johnson of Fallsburg (Jan. 16-22) and Demario Smith of Kingston (Jan. 23-29).

In a losing cause, Baccaro scored 25 points as the Panthers fell to Roosevelt 58-53 on Friday.
Jacob Balmos, Port Jervis
He tallied 17 points as the Raiders ran past Minisink Valley 61-45 on Tuesday.
Tyson Clark, Goshen
He dropped in 30 points as the Gladiators rallied for a 71-63 win over Clarkstown North on Monday. The next night he scored 19 in a 71-64 win over Beacon.
Chris Cruz, Middletown
He posted 22 points as the Middies beat Pine Bush 79-25 on Tuesday.
Jacob Gonzalez, Warwick
In a losing cause Gonzalez dropped in 24 points in a 65-61 setback to Washingtonville on Thursday.
Deondre Johnson, Newburgh
He piled up 32 points, 15 rebounds and five blocks as the Goldbacks nipped Kingston 65-63 on Thursday.
Raysean Johnson, Valley Central
He posted 31 points and 12 rebounds as the Vikings stunned Newburgh 58-37 on Tuesday. Two nights later he dropped in 32 points in VC’s 67-39 victory over Pine Bush.
Jonah McDuffie, Chapel Field
He scored 26 points as the Lions mauled Highland 69-48 on Wednesday. A night later he scored 30 as Chapel Field rolled Eldred 76-23.
Jankarlos Mendoza, Monroe-Woodbury
He scored 26 in a losing effort as the Crusaders fell to Middletown 68-52 on Thursday.
Nick Stinemire, Saugerties
He tallied 17 points as the Sawyers needed overtime to knock off O’Neill 61-58 on Tuesday.
Ke’Montae Thawe, Kingston
In a losing effort, Thawe had 31 points in the Tigers’ 65-63 setback to Newburgh on Thursday.
Matt Vanmatre, Ellenville
He scored 18 points as the Blue Devils beat Webutuck 71-51 on Tuesday.
