Boys basketball: Weston Aigner leads Castle's second-half charge in win over Henderson
NEWBURGH, Ind. -- Weston Aigner scored the first nine points of the second half to lead Castle to a 64-54 victory over Henderson County on Tuesday.
With his team holding to a 30-28 lead after a competitive first half, Aigner led the Knights' charge out of the locker room as he took control of the paint and helped Castle expand its lead to 39-28 midway through the third quarter.
The Knights eventually 48-32 late in the period and were on their way to their sixth straight win.
Aigner totaled 24 points and six rebounds for Castle (9-4). Braydon Bishop scored 16 and Jackson Mitchell added 13.
Gerard Thomas led Henderson County (10-5) with 19 points and eight rebounds. Cooper Davenport, Jake Rideout and Damarius Dixon added nine apiece for the Colonels, who saw their five-game winning streak come to an end.
Henderson County will play at Central (6-5) on Friday, while Castle will host Bloomington South.
