Boys and Girls Club of Georgia celebrates ‘Youth of the Year’ finalists
The Boys and Girls Club of Georgia recognized their “Youth of the Year” candidates on Tuesday.

The organization held a luncheon at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights in downtown Atlanta.
They celebrated the accomplishments of nearly 30 teenagers before one of them moves on to represent the entire state.
According to the organization’s website, the Youth of the Year is a character and leadership program that recognizes club members who display academic achievement, leadership skills, and service to the community.

“We will select one amazing youth to go on to represent the Boys and Girls Club of Georgia at the regional competition with the Boys and Girls Club of America. And, if they move on from regional, they’ll move on to the national competition,” Kristine Steinmann said.
The lucky winner of the national competition will win a $25,000 scholarship.
