Boys & Girls club members receive NSU scholarships

The Rick Case Automotive Group recently awarded 10 members from the Boys & Girls Club of Broward County with four-year scholarships to Nova Southeastern University.

Marking the third year of the scholarship awards, the recipients will receive funding to complete their four-year undergraduate degree. With the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the NSU Rita and Rick Case Scholarship Awards increased its annual recipients from three to four children to 10 Boys & Girls Club members.

“We continue to stand by Broward County youth as our main community support initiative, especially during a time when they need us,” Rita and Rick Case, longtime supporters of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County, said in a statement.

Once members are accepted into NSU, the awards will be considered as the individual’s financial needs are assessed by the Boys & Girls Club of Broward County and the university. The member’s academic performance and participation in the club are also taken into consideration.

The scholarship award recipients include Ja’Liyah R. and Nijly S., Thomas D. Stephanis Club; Ryan P., Florence A. De George Club; Armand P. and Adriana R., Rick and Rita Case Club; Jasmine C. and Brinae J., Marti Huizenga Club; Kashena J. and Abagail W., Carver Ranches Club; and Anthony G., Jim and Jan Moran Club.

“These kids never thought going to a school like NSU was possible but with the generous support of Rita & Rick Case, they are now able to realize their dreams and begin to create their futures,” said Chris Gentile, co-CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County.
